Hospitality Internship Program - 6 months

Overview:

• J-1 Visa Program
• Program length: 6 or 12 months
• Placements location: all over United States
• This program is focused in the hospitality sector and participants will be placed in premier resorts and hotels
•  Participants will work in the following areas
• Food and Beverage Division
• Front Office and Rooms Division
• Housekeeping Management
• Resort Activities
• Culinary Arts
• Participation limited to no more than 1 year
• Candidate can express a USA location preference but it’s not guaranteed; location will be based on availability

Main requirements:

• Must be proficient in spoken English in order to properly carry out their duties
• Candidate must have:
• Completed a 3rd level Degree in Hospitality Studies or another relevant field or
• At least 5 years professional experience in Hospitality
• As per J-1 Visa standards, candidates should be under 30 years of age (some exceptions can be made) 
• Need to be interviewed in person by telephone or Skype (in English)
• Need to successfully pass all the background checks (i.e. criminal, educational, professional etc.)
• Need to highlight any physical issue/problem during the application process

Working Hours:

• Minimum of 32 hours per week
• Because the hospitality business includes times of busy season, shoulder season and low season, the number of hours you are scheduled will change as the business demands 
• On occasion candidate can be scheduled less than 32 hours per week
• On occasion candidate can be scheduled more than 32 hours per week
• Time off/holidays are at the discretion of the host employer

Stipend and Compensation

• Hourly rate of pay
• Rate of pay is based on Federal minimum wage regulations
• Minimum wage changes depending on which US State the candidate will be placed in
• The rate of pay may change as the candidate’s position changes as he/she rotates thought different learning opportunities and experiences
• If candidate works in a tipped position, he/she may receive a tip rate
